Yes, the water is safe to drink throughout Nosara. It has a high mineral content.
Do I need to exchange the US Dollar to the Costa Rica Colon?
Costa Rica businesses accept both the Colon and US Dollar. Change will be given in the local currency, not in dollars. The exchange rate varies daily. A general rule of thumb is 570 Colon to 1 US Dollar, though it is not exact.
How much do I tip?
The standard gratuity is 10% for services. Most restaurants will include a 10% service charge on your bill, but not all. Check the bill for the service charge. Any additional tip is optional.
